My Story

I am joining Team Dorothy House and taking on the Men's Walk to Support 2026 and helping raise money to support the Hospice's work across our community. I will be walking 8 miles in solidarity with other men on Saturday 14th March from Dorothy House in Winsley to Bath Pavillion. The Men's Walk provides a safe environment for men to chat and share experiences that they may otherwise find difficult to talk about (including grief and loss), helping to break the stigma around men's mental health while supporting vital work in the local area.

I first took part in this event with my dad in 2018, walking in honour of my Grampy who recieved such wonderful care from Dorothy House before he passed away in 2016, and my Nan who passed away a couple of months after him. What started as a one-off tribute has become an annual event for me and I have taken part in 2020 (just), 2021 (virtually), 2022, 2024, 2025 and will be returning in 2026 for my 7th Men's Walk - it's going to be especially poignant for me and my family after the sudden passing of my sister Toni in July last year, and I will be feeling the weight of her loss with every step.

Together last year we raised my highest ever total of £1141.25 including Gift Aid. This time around I just want to focus on doing my sister and grandparents proud by doing my best - every £ we raise genuinely helps me coax my creaking knees to the finish.

Thank you for taking the time to visit my fundraising page and please donate whatever you can!
